Nadiro™ Receives Large Orders for New Generation Lifesaving Systems

A new generation lifesaving system has been developed by Nadiro A/S specifically according to the NORSOK R-002 standard, which introduces a new safety standard for lifting appliances on all existing and future offshore installations in Norway.

In June 2011, Nadiro A/S was the first manufacturer to install complete lifeboat systems built according to NORSOK R-002 on jack-up Maersk Reacher, which presently operates in the Norwegian sector. The systems have been developed in close cooperation with Norwegian partners including a drilling contractor, an oil company, and Det Norske Veritas.

The contract is a break-through in Nadiro’s strategy to be a preferred supplier of high-end lifesaving systems for offshore customers with a clear safety profile and a priority for employee safety.

Esben Juul Sørensen, Managing Director of Nadiro A/S explains: “The Norwegian offshore sector is world-leading when it comes to safety due to a consistent effort from the authorities and the industry. And this matches Nadiro’s safety philosophy perfectly. In fact, all Nadiro equipment has been developed specifically for future Norwegian standards ever since the founding of Nadiro in 2009”.

Now, the Managing Director looks ahead: “With 2015 not far away I feel a large interest in our equipment from Norwegian drilling contractors and oil companies. Therefore, Nadiro builds new production facilities to increase our present production capacity.” The new facilities of 6.000 m2 adds to the existing facilities of 32.000 m2 and will be inaugurated around new year.

Nadiro’s award-winning technologies include the Boat-In-A-Box™ davit and the Drop-In-Ball™ hook system. Both technologies are used in combination with lifeboats and rescue boats. The Nadiro design introduces back-up systems, double component systems, increased structural strength, and high documentation requirements.
